Important Information for Year 1:

  • PE will take place on a Monday and Tuesday, but please ensure your child’s PE kit is in school every day as plans may change and it is crucial that all children can take part.
  • This term we will visit the school library every week so please remember to have your library book in your school bag on a Friday. Please also remember to have your Reading Record in your bag each day for our daily Shared Reading lessons.
  • Home Learning is sent home on a Wednesday, due for the following Monday. This alternates between reading comprehension questions / phonics activities in Home Learning books and maths questions which will be set online on Maths Shed.
  • Spellings linked to your child’s current phonics level are sent home on a Wednesday and will be tested each Wednesday so please practice these with your child at home and ensure their Spelling book is in their bag for this.
  • Shared Reading books will be changed on a Thursday and these are linked to your child’s current phonics level. Please remind your child to hand their reading book and reading record in on a Thursday morning.
