Year 6

Welcome to Year 6

We are excited to welcome you and your child to Year 6! Our teaching team includes Miss Bailey and Miss Bedding (Class Teachers) ,Mrs Lavelle (Teaching Staff) and Mrs Aitken, Mrs Jones and Mrs Wallwork (Learning Support Assistants).

We are proud to share our bookshelf for the Autumn Term, that links to the Character Traits – Kindness, Curiosity, Integrity, Bravery, Citizenship & Gratitude. Our new bookshelf contains a selection of high-quality texts to inspire our curriculum.

Our bookshelf texts are:

  • ‘The Man Who Walked Between the Towers’ by Mordicai Gerstein
  • ‘Holes’ by Louis Sacher
  • ‘Bob Marley – Little People Big Dreams’ by Maria Isabel Sanchez Vegara
  • ‘My Heart is a Poem’. Anthology by various authors.
  • ‘Tales From Shakespeare’ by Michael Murpurgo

Establishing strong relationships with our pupils and their families is our priority and we believe that communication is integral to your child’s success. Class teachers and Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) are available both before and after school to receive messages and celebrate successes.

Please look on our website for resources to help you support your child’s learning at home.

Please follow us on Instagram at @gbps.yearsix to find out more about your child’s learning and achievements.
