Year 4

Welcome to Year 4

We are excited to welcome you and your child back after the Spring Term to Year 4! Our teaching team includes Miss Sykes, Mrs Lavelle and Mrs van Spelde (Class Teachers), Miss Cheetham and Mr Allaby (Additional Teaching Staff), and Mrs Hollingworth, Mrs Firth, Mrs Brickhill, Mrs Bowker and Mrs Laiker (Learning Support Assistants).

We are proud to share our bookshelf for the Summer Term, that links to the Character Traits – Kindness, Curiosity, Integrity, Bravery, Citizenship & Gratitude. Our new bookshelf contains a selection of high-quality texts to inspire our curriculum.

Our bookshelf texts are:

  • Be The Change: Poems to Help You Save the World by Liz Brownlee, Roger Stevens, and Matt Goodfellow
  • The Highland Falcon Thief by M.G. Leonard and Sam Segman
  • The Journey by Francesca Sanna
  • Red Alert by Catherine Barr and Anne Wilson
  • The Rhythm of the Rain by Grahame Baker-Smith
  • Don’t Panic We Can Save The Planet by James Campbell

Establishing strong relationships with our pupils and their families is our priority and we believe that communication is integral to your child’s success. Class teachers and Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) are available both before and after school to receive messages and celebrate successes.

On PE days, children come to school in their PE kits. The PE Days in Year 4 in Summer Term is Tuesday and Friday.

Please look on our website for resources to help you support your child’s learning at home.

Please follow us on Instagram at @gbps_yearfour to find out more about your child’s learning and achievements.
