Welcome to Year 4
Welcome to Year 4
Our teaching team includes Miss Ashworth and Miss Forsythe (Class Teachers). We will also have Mr Giraud (Associate Teacher) working with us this term.
Our Autumn Term theme is Belonging – ‘Great Britain’, inspired by a range of exciting books, which make up our class bookshelves. We will be using ‘A Bear Called Paddington’, ‘The Accidental Prime Minister’ and ‘The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe’ to inspire much of our English writing, as well as helping us to understand the Articles of the UNICEF Rights of the Child. We will be looking at ‘Pop-up London’ to discuss the changes in Great Britain over time, specifically looking at the Tudor period, which is our history topic for this term. The poetry book ‘Be the Change’ will help us understand the changes to our environment and how we can help preserve it. The book ‘Malala’s Magic Pencil’ will explore what it means to be British and belong, while comparing Britain to other countries. We will use In RE we will continue to develop our knowledge on the teachings and beliefs of a range of different religions and look at how this is represented in society across Great Britain.
