Welcome to Year 5

Spring Term – ‘Creativity’

Our Spring Term theme is ‘Creativity’, inspired by a range of engaging texts that will be used across our school curriculum. Many of the texts we are using include stories full of adventure, journeys, pictures that tell a thousand words and discoveries you won’t believe.

Our Spring Bookshelf: –

  • The Mysteries of Harris Burdick by Chris Van Allsburg
  • The Fib by George Layton
  • Murder Most Unladylike by Robin Stevens
  • Hidden Figures by Margot Lee Shetterly and Winifred Conkling
  • Drawn Together by Minh Le and Dan Santat

Important Information for Year 5:

  • The children should also read their reading books from the Year 5 library as well as the school library.
  • The children should be reading every night for at least 10 minutes. This should be recorded in their Reading Records and signed by a parent. Reading Records will be check on a Wednesday.
