Year 1 pupils enjoyed a day at Chester Zoo to support their Science topic of ‘animals’

Last week, our Year 1 pupils had an exciting day out at Chester Zoo to support their Science topic, Animals.

The trip was a fantastic opportunity to see some of the amazing creatures we’ve been learning about in real life!

We spotted elephants, a sleeping lion, a cheetah, flamingoes, playful penguins, a jaguar and orangutans.

One of the highlights was exploring the Dragons in Danger exhibit, where we learned about some of the world’s most endangered reptiles.

Using their newly learned map skills from Geography lessons, the children helped navigate our route around the zoo. Along the way, we even bumped into Year 1 pupils from Woodford Primary School – what a surprise!

It was a day full of learning, laughter and lots of walking. By the time we got back on the coach, we had some very tired (but very happy!) children.
