Safeguarding

What is safeguarding?

Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is defined as: protecting children from maltreatment; preventing impairment of children’s mental health or development; ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care; and acting to enable all children to have the best outcomes.

Within the Laurus Trust, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone’s responsibility. Our approach is child-centred and we consider, at all times, what is in the best interest of the child.

The Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) at Gorsey Bank Primary School is Joe Maguire, Head of School. Our Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead (DDSL) is Faith Bell, Assistant Head for Inclusion.

If you have a concern regarding the welfare of a child who attends Gorsey Bank Primary School, please ask to speak to a member of the safeguarding team on 01625 468040 or [email protected].

Further advice and guidance can also be sought from the Cheshire East Consultation Service on 0300 123 5012.
