The wonderful choir at Gorsey Bank Primary School has been spreading Christmas cheer this festive season, with a tour of local landmarks and events.

They have been delighting audiences with their seasonal singing over the past few weeks, which culminated in a terrific performance aboard Concorde this weekend and resulted in them being awarded for their services to the community.

The choir’s busy schedule began with them entertaining the crowds at the Wilmslow Christmas Lights Switch-On in November, before a special appearance at the Styal Lights Switch-On a couple of weeks later.

Gorsey pupils have loved having the opportunity to sing for their family and friends at these popular local community events and were delighted to have the chance to sing for another live audience on Concorde, at Manchester Airport’s Viewing Park on Sunday. The choir’s performances have been so good that Cheadle Royal Rotary have given them a Community Service Award.

Head of School, Joe Maguire said, ‘I am really proud of the children and the effort they have put into their rehearsals for these performances. It has been great to hear the lovely comments people have made about  their singing, especially when music is such an important part of the curriculum we offer at Gorsey Bank.’

The choir will next be performing at Gorsey Bank’s open morning on Friday 10 January. New and prospective parents and carers are welcome to join us to look around the school and meet the head, before applying for a reception place, starting September 2022.

Open morning places can be booked on the homepage.
