Pastoral Support

The well-being of all our pupils is of paramount importance to us.

We place great emphasis on developing and maintaining positive relationships in an inclusive environment that enables every child to flourish. We believe that a strong partnership between home and school is vital for every child’s personal and academic development.

At the start of their Reception year, pupils are placed into one of our two Reception classes and they remain in the same class as they move through the school. We aim to get a balance of boys and girls as well as age in each class.

Class Teachers are the first point of contact for parents and carers and are available at drop off and pick up for any quick conversations you may want to have. For matters that need a longer conversation, please feel free to arrange a meeting or call by emailing [email protected].

We encourage you to let us know about anything, big or small, that might help us to make sure your child feels safe, happy and cared for.

Our approach to behaviour management is based on the positive reinforcement of desirable behaviours and as such rewards are used to encourage effort as well as achievement. Rewards include House Points, Class Points, Praise, Awards and special mentions in our weekly newsletter and on Twitter.

Pupils are also placed into one of our four houses. These comprise children from each year group and provide opportunities for collaboration through house events and competitions.

We offer a comprehensive Personal Social Health Education curriculum and work with pupils to ensure they understand their responsibility to follow our three school rules: We respect others; We make good choices; We try hard.
